Bacteriophages, or phages, are the natural biological predators of bacteria. Through millions of years of evolution, phages have become so specialized that they can only detect and target highly specific bacteria, leaving all other cells untouched.
By finding the right phages from the environment, we can design antibacterial medicines, a process known as phage therapy.
